Fridges - a discovery

Recently my fridge, an Electrolux 60ltr model stopped working. I tried the usual things to get it working again, ie. turning it upside down, shaking it, leaving it upside down for a few hours. All no good. The thing had died. So, get a new fridge. Fine - how much? Not far off £400. No way could I afford that sort of money, so I started looking for a second hand one.
Eventually my wife found one at Mount Caravans, London Apprentice, St. Austell, Cornwall. "It works ok" I was told, so I bought it. £150 bargain. It did work - once, then packed up. Phone call to Mount Caravans to tell them and was told "no problem bring it back and you can have your money back". Fair enough, but this still left me without a fridge!
So resigned to having to pay £385 for a new one, an amount I could ill afford, off I went searching round their shop. I came across a brand new 'Sunngas' 3 way fridge for £170. Admittedly this was only a 40ltr fridge, but had no ice box. This meant the overall storage space for chilled food was similar to the Electrolux 60ltr. I've never found much use for the ice box anyway! There is a facility for making ice cubes, simple but efficient.
I purchased the fridge and with a minimal amount of alterations to the cupboard space where the old fridge sat and to the flue (which is on the opposite side to the Electrolux model), the fridge was satisfactorily fitted. It looks and works brilliant.
My question is, why can Sunngas build a fridge and sell it for £170 and Electrolux charge nearly £400? Surely this is a rip-off by a company, which until now, had the monopoly on caravan fridges. All I have to say is "Well done Sunngas! Hopefully in future we'll be seeing an expansion on their fridge range for caravans / motorhomes".
