Up for sale is our beloved 1997 Toyota Toyoace Champ 4 berth motorhome/campervan.
Also known as the Tardis...a real head turner that has people queuing up to look inside! You won't find another like her, with the specification she has, and the condition she is in. A self contained beauty!
She was imported from Japan by her previous owners, who intended to take her back to New Zealand where you will find lots of these and similar campervans. Due to a change in NZ regulations this was no longer possible and she was sold. She has many items fitted you will find on a bigger van/American RV. We converted her to UK standard for electrics etc. She came to live with us in Jul 08 and in the 3 yrs with have owned her, have had a great time travelling around the UK.
This is a great van, reliable, passes MOT without problem (last one Jul 11) and is a pleasure to drive. It is no wider/longer than a large family estate so it can cope with the narrow lanes that sat nav tends to send you down!
WHY ARE WE SELLING?? We have now found and settled in our permanent home, and increased our dog family. She just does not get enough use to warrant keeping her. She is a van to have fun in, and we want her to go to someone who will nurture her, and take her on lots of new adventures!

The CONS: -Leave her for 7 months, don't charge or drive her, & she won't start ! (New starter battery Feb 12) If you are taller than 5' 10" you may find her uncomfortable to drive and move around inside due to her compact size. -The vent in the shower area needs replaced. We sourced an authentic replacement- it just needs fitting. -She is not built for speed, but will cruise happily at around 55-60mph. Depending on wind, load etc, we normally get about 30mpg. -Much of the original information is in Japanese, but we have instructions on most things, and have worked out how to use the rest through trial/error and some great motor homing pals. -You cannot fit more than 3 dobermann's inside it and have the owners get a good nights kip!
MILEAGE -Speedo reads 115643 KILOMETRES...which works out at approx 72000 miles. Speedo only displays KM/H.
DIMENSIONS- Length 5m, Height 2.7m, Width 1.9m
WOULD WE PX?? We will only consider a diesel estate with tow bar- subject to age and condition etc.
