Mount Caravans was founded by the Parents of the present Directors in 1955.
The founders father had been involved in the manufacture of touring caravans before the war, and this tradition had been continued by Gordon Hoddinott. From holidays on the beach, with the demise of the tin mine for which he worked, he saw the opportunity to develop the country house at “The Mount” for self catering holidays. From these beginnings, he developed a letting fleet of caravans, and the potential for caravan sales was recognised, and Mount Caravans became the premier dealer in Holiday and residential caravans in Cornwall.
