.....and when you go across to Europe you see a whole new side of any country when you use their public transport and it is a very effective way to learn lots of new vocabulary.

They don't teach things like:

What do you mean there isn't another bus back to the campsite until Monday ?

in school Italian lessons.

Bet you can't give a sound reason for the differences though?

Why can't (don't) we have at least some similar facilities here????

Hi

Early on you mentioned Bakewell. If you go out of town on the main A6 south and look for signs on left you can turn into Agricultural Way which is the main road farmers take into the Market. We always park down there and find there are usually a dozen or so MH's. In fact it is as near to Town Centre as the other Car Parks - very convenient David

Very helpful - have just had nightmares about how to parallel park a 7m long MH which we pick up in two weeks time.
Really looking forward to it.

Yep, Davoscar is right.

Right next to the cattle market in Bakewell. The grass has that mesh laid in it, so even when it's wet you can drive on it no probs. And your right next to the shops as well.

Just one thing, i stayed there on a Sunday night. Was woken up at around 6 am by what seemed to be a hundred landrovers with trailers all with sheep on board. What a racquet. I laugh about it now. So my tip is, if staying overnight, keep well back from the access road to the market.

Well I was very wrong she in fact seems very keen on the idea but has one reservation and that is the parking of the MH itself

Although we will be taking our hols in the 'van stopping at various campsites one of the attractions of getting a motorhome is using it for days out with our very young children so we have a base for meals , loo breaks etc. etc. now my wife did come up with quite an important consideration that is putting her of the idea a little and that is finding places to park the MH

We went for a day out to Bakewell on Sunday and my wife did comment on if we had taken a MH there where the hell would we park it Very Happy

So how do you all do it ? any advice ?

Now thats what I said, where do I park it and ours is 9m or nearly 30foot long. !

Always manage somewhere,

For example, Matlock Bath, there is parking, plenty of it just on the way out of town.

But I like to park it here.........
