The threads are currently provided with a variety of response buttons Thank/Quote/Tweet etc but there are times when the buttons are not appropriate. If one LIKES a comment then THANK is not enough and equally if a post falls short of acceptable/objectionable then DISLIKE might be in order and so on. Would admin consider the provision of Like and Dislike buttons?
I am sure that this request will have been made before,,,,,,,but I am too darn lazy to search for it Laughing

Many members do not know how to press the thanks button. Lets not confuse them with another choice.

Very patronizing! As an IT professional for many years I was always amazed at the ability of users to understand complex computer systems.

Some could even read what was on the screen and others could spot a book resting on their keyboard without too much prompting.

I even had a few who could find the switch for their monitor to cure a blank screen! Confused

But I would like a "like" and "dislike" button, certainly for "Off Topic" posts.

This has been mentioned in various ways before. I think it's a great idea but the usual answer is that there are enough buttons already and because we are stupid we might hit the wrong button by accident.

I notice that we have an ever growing number of buttons at the bottom of the page linking to Twit, Boohoo and god only knows what else, so there is room for buttons to commercial links, Alan.

How about another button entitled "Drivel". If the button is pressed a given number of times the post concerned could automatically be sent to the "Utter Drivel" forum.

Only posts which are either not related to motorhome subjects would qualify, although exceptions could be made for posts which ask totally stupid questions, (On application to a Mod)

This would be fair and democratic in that as a certain number of presses of the "Drivel" button would be required to qualify for the "Utter Drivel" forum, movement to the "Utter Drivel" forum would not be because of the opinion of just one member but quite a few. It would also save the Moderators some work as movement would usually be automatic.

Authors of such posts could visit them as they wish and those who like to read utter drivel can go directly to that forum without wasting time reading reasonably sensible discourse on motorhome related subjects. Smile

Yeah, but posters would only be allowed to press their own button once. Wink

I would have LIKEd the original post, but there was no button Crying or Very sad

And anyway, this should be in the New Feature Requests forum http://www.motorhomefacts.com/forum-114.html

I can give myself a "thumbs up" Very Happy
