Just a thought.

Since they are not expensive, is there any reason against getting two sets, and fitting the second one along the top rear of the van?

Not sure if they could both be wired into the same buzzer/receiver, but if you had to use two it wouldn't be a big problem since they are very small.

Mrs Zeb gets out if in doubt, but so far I have failed to train her to look up often enough!!!!

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

we already have a camera fitted but as we have a bike rack fitted we've had to tilt the camera up to get a better view backwards.
this means we can only see whats behind from 4-5 feet, and also not the full width of the back.

we thought that sensors would help to "see" beneath the rack.
