I am going to bite the bullet and get a solar panel fitted. I am thinking of having it done at the Peterborough show. Is this a good idea?

Are there any recommendations of suppliers I should check out, particularly those who will be at the show. I want to do a bit of research before I get there.

Trade responses welcome!

Hi Ken 38

Solar Solutions will be at Peterborough. I have not got a solar panel, personally, but have heard good reports of this firm (offshoot from Car a Tow) and they fit at the Show

Pal of mine had and 85 and he was (is) well satisfied.

Hi Ken

Warners have a list of exhibitors at the show:

We normally have lots of folks on our pitch having things fitted at all the shows, so I'm sure someone will be along soon who has had one done.

We'd go with Solar Solutions as well. We had one fitted at their base near Poole before we went away and they made a good, professional job of it as well as being knowledgeable and honest about solar panels in general.

Solar Solutions fitted our panel at Shepton Mallet show.

We specified least possible drilling so apart from the cable entry, which is sited under the panel to prevent rain hammer, all fixing points were sikaflexed.
Its best to book as early as possible, this gives time for the adhesive to 'go off'. Solar Solutions did come back to us on the Sunday to check everything was ok and the adhesive had cured.

They did a professional job and the equipment has worked without fault since 2007 when it was fitted.

no connection with Solar Solutions apart from being a satisfied customer, but expecting a big discount when I get a second panel fitted Wink

I, too, would recommend Solar Solutions. They fitted a panel for us at last year´s Peterborough show. They were quick and efficient. As has been mentioned you need to book with them asap. They are very busy.

Ken,

We had a solar panel fitted at the Peterborough Show last year, it was carried out by Solar solutions also. I rang them beforehand for a price and booked a time, they met us in the carpark and an hour later the job was done.
I would also recommend having a battery master fitted at the same time. That way the engine battery is always topped up as well.

Hope it goe well

Ian

Solar Solutions fitted 3 panels for me 18 months ago. Very pleased and I highly recommend them.

If vanbitz is there l would go for them. And if you have a problem you can see where folks have posted Vanbitz jumps straight in to sort it. They did my solar panel and l couldn't fault their service also l had 100w on recommendation worth the extra bit for that extra wattage.
