The MH battery is covered by your new vehicle 3 year warranty.
The Leisure battery is covered by the Converter.
But Batteries seem to be counted like break shoes and exhaust and do not always run the full 3 years, even though the new battery will be covered by at least a 3 year warranty.
My one a Renault works van with a 3 year 60'000 mile warranty only 13 months old, the battery died. They would not cover it and cost me !!!!
I would say if the product is faulty, it should be under warrant, I think a lot more information would be required for me to give a meaningfull answer...
If the manufacturer can weedle out of it I'd be surprised unless they can evidence that you flattened it? I would expect it to be covered. What is the dealer saying?
The base vehicle can be a lot older than the finished conversion tho. Best way to date the vehicle is by the tire date stamp. Our van's tires were a year older than it's registration date.
My MH was on EHU at home during the recent cold spell and even though i have Battery Master fitted, the vehicle battery was too low to start the engine.
Obviously, I was a little peeved that the BM had not done its job but after speaking to Vanbitz (who fitted the BM) I was informed that it could well be a faulty plate on the battery that is the problem even though the MH is only 8 months old.
Since I charged the battery, it has maintained charge consistently because I keep it on EHU with the engine battery selected, and until I get it checked out, I still do not know whether it is faulty or not, but if it is, I want to know if it is covered by the vehicle warranty. preferably before the 12 month warranty expires. I hope this clarifies why I ask the question.

Ok Keith I would like to know what current was being charged to your engine battery when you first had the issue, there is a discharge current on the main battery, for example, alarms, radio, the main ecu etc if there was no charge on that battery you can find that battery will be discharged in say 2 to 3 weeks... You can test the charge by simply staring your engine if it starts ok it's a good clue that the battery is ok.... But it's a mine field to prove the battery is faulty, unless you are well experenced in electrics and fault finding...
