nice people at Mercedes, they seem to only pay for warranty claims when a fleet company is asking. maybe we should all say we are interested in 15 new vans next year!

I spoke today with the workshop staff at a Royal mail workshop whom I know very well asking about sprinter steering lock problems as they have a large fleet of sprinters to maintain, they tell me that they heard that the earlier 906 series models did have problems but the ones in their fleet are mostly 2009 reg with a few 2008s and they tell me they have not had a single failure despite being high milage on and stop start work.
My own sprinter is still starting ok but I am taking delivery of a new one at the end of the week so that will give me another 3 years warranty.
I hope teemyob that Mercedes have a change of heart and contribute to the bill

Hi boys, Getting the van ready for going away and the ignition key is sticking in the starter position. A little touch and its off but frightened I might mistakenly leave it on and burn the starter out. Tried a bit of oil, wrong move, didn't free it off and stopped working. Stripped it off, cleaned it out and back working again. Have arranged with mercedes to have a new ignition switch fitted next week. Is this an 08 mercedes problem?

According to Mercedes UK. This is not a problem on any EuroSprinter.

Problem! What Problem? No, Mercedes do not have Problems. Think you are very much mistaken. But if you wish to pay us, we can replace anything you the customer may think is a problem.
