I quite fancy a dual SIM smart phone. But definitely don't have the need or cash to go all the way to an iPhone or Blackberry.

I see many cheaper so called smart phones on e-bay from Hong Kong, China and Birmingham at around £50 to £60.
They have the dual SIM and Wi-Fi I need as well as lots of stuff I don't need.

Any thoughts on these cheap phones and I know you usually get what you pay for but I don't need much.

This kinda thing................

That particular phone does not support 3G so limited use for browsing etc unless wifi, maybe deeper pockets Rolling Eyes some of the Android phones are not bad value but usually locked in to 18-24 mth contracts

Thanks Chris.
But 3G not high on my want list as the coverage in France is pathetic.

Don't want a contract as I have a UK SIM and old number at £5.99 a month and a French SIM and new number at ziltch a month.

I thought I was doing well at £10 per month, no contract as it has ended and I have not yet renewed.
be careful as a lot of those chinese mobiles are unsuitable for over here. I had one from USA and it would only support some networks.

Yep Cabby.
I also have a US cell phone and I'm not sure what band it's on but it won't latch onto anything here. I use it stateside but am about to cancel it as the vacation charge has just doubled.

I bought a fairly cheap smart phone from China, unfortunately I got stung by the Douane (Customs) for an extra 30 euros before they would deliver it. The phone itself was okay, dual Sim which is what I wanted but it also had TV included which I didn't want, and WiFi and Blue Tooth. Finished up selling it on Ebay and someone in the UK bought it.

Did it do all the basics OK? Why did you sell it again? And what did you end up with after?

My new £49 Dual SIM iPhone look alike arrived today and so far it does just what it said on the box.

Both SIMs, Wi-Fi, internet, camera, texts and e-mail, video, FM radio, etc. etc. all work.
Everything except the built in TV as it's analogue.
