Hi all, can anyone recommend a company for insurance cover whilst full timing?

We're looking at www.comfort-insurance.co.uk at the moment.

Dave and Carol.

Hi
We hope to fulltime Very Happy in the near future and approached Comfort about it at Peterbough. We were inpressed by their knowledge on the matter and have subsequently change to them in preparation. To date we have been very happy with the effiecincy of their service.

If, like us, your in an American RV, you WILL NOT find fulltimers insurance with it stated in black and white that you are covered for full time living. Even if (like us) you have a permanent BRICKS AND MOTAR address within the U.K, the best that you will get from any insurance company is........."yes, we'll insure you, and it's up to you how much you use your coach, but if you actually tell us that you live permanently in your R.V, then we will void your insurance!"
I have heard plenty of stories on this board and others from people who full time in both R.V's and in European motorhomes, but until somebody scans in a copy of thier insurance certificate which actually shows the words "full timing", then I will not believe that thier policy is 100% waterproof.
The above applies to
Safeguard
Comfort
N.F.U
Adrian Flux
..........and many others.
This has been a bee in my bonnet for the 7 years we have been "out" (without a single claim I might add- oh God, touch wood) and I have written many letters to Forums/Clubs/Magazines and Insurance co's. Nobody will address the issue properly, partly because nobody want's to set a precedent.
You'll just have to "bend the truth", live quietly and hope for the best.
Certainly not an ideal situation, but the best the pethetic beaurocricy of this country can offer.

A reply from Comfort regarding ARVs

Mr Allan,

You are right, at the moment the American vehicles are not on our online quote system. We can cover them but our premiums are pretty high - generally starting at about £1,000.

We also ask that you are over 30, and have at least 2 years No Claims Bonus

Regards
Lisa

Needless to say I won't be pursuing a quote Confused
