I dont intend to spend more than the £44 for 80w ...
I have access to glass, uva clear glass glue, a clear durable glass resin and durable shrink wrap from the food industry...
I dont need a 25 year lifespan glass provides nor the weight, hence my interest in exploring the laminate route or maybe setting in the resin...
Lets not forget every cheap garden solar light is set in a cheap resin that deteriorates, but has proved the principle of function should a quality one be used...
Shouldnt have worried, the ebay seller is sending me 5 new ones which is pretty decent of him .....
One thing that has concerned me with solar panels is their inability to function well in low winter light when their produced voltage /amerage drops, so as to prevent charging or make it poor precicely when you re more likely to need them, as mentioned frequently on here....
Obviuosly adding larger number s of pannels in parallel wont help if there simply isnt the light to produce a very minimal charge or none at all , so once i ve had a bash at making this panel, if successful ( or if not i ll be buying made wattage!) i ll be considdering a departure from the parallel manner in which they are conventionally wired and adding to the circuitry to install a self controlled low light capable solar charging system...
obviously i m interested in this topic as i intend to have the new house done when we finaly purchase....
