I was amazed that at 15.30 today my nominal 120 watt panel was charging at 11.1 amps.
I would guess that the leisure batteries (total 220 AHr) were probably about 75% charged and the engine battery (85 AHr) somewhat less at the time. The regulator is set for 80:20 leisure:engine. The panel is non tilting/steering flat mounted.

I would like to see the spec of such a panel as 11.1 is well beyond the maximum capability of a panel of this size . Most likely 8 amps in perfect conditions.
Most 80's give 4 to 5 amps. My 80/60 combo often gives 5.8 but not seen higher yet.

I have 2 x 80 watt panels and the most I have had according to the Steca regulator is 9.1 amps, that was in the Southern France with the sun high in the sky-what are you using to measure the current ?

Well am now a bit surer
Have just checked with a "proper" meter and they both agree at 4.5 A with the current partial sun so I don't have much reason to doubt that at the higher currents the monitor will be somewhere in the ball park

.......What make of panel is it, think I might buy a couple
It is a Sunshine Solar 120watt monocrystalline panel with the Dual Battery Controller and remote monitor.
Don't forget the current is dependant on the battery state as well as the sun and location - currently in Bideford The 4.5 A this morning was, I think, about 11.00 and yesterday the 11A was about 15.30 - maybe a bit before This morning the batteries we well charged and I put all the load on that I could to give some space in the battery.
I am so amazed that I'm contacting Sunshine Solar for their comments
