Arrived home late last night after staying at Camping Versoyen, Bourg St Maurice. Good site, can recommend, ideal for Les Arcs and easy to find. From Albertville after peage road in is hilly and lots of bends, slow going, a bit of a drag really, but no problem. Aire de chainage (for putting snow chains on) starts about Albertville. (Scary thought!!) Site is sign posted once in Bourg. Has a hard standing area for motorhomes. Check that you’ve got correct amps on hook up though. Any problems don’t worry, staff are really friendly. Plan arrival as reception closes at 1pm till 3pm and again at 7pm and gates close at 10pm. Shower block (although outdated décor) are kept immaculately clean. There is a block for locking skis away, you’ll need to take a padlock with you but locking bar is from reception. Very easy walking distance from Intermache and Super U if you forget anything, fuel station 24/24, cash point and a McDonalds. Ski hire is next to the supermarkets (Intersport) and you get a 10% discount with staying at Versoyen. So don’t forget to ask for the discount card to take with you. Also ski/lift passes can be purchased from reception. Four days costs 122 euro’s per adult compared to 140 at Les Arcs but it’s cheaper to buy childrens pass from the Funiculaire. Camping Versoyen only accepts cash for ski pass though and photos are not needed for the passes. Free shuttle bus outside the campsite to the Funiculaire and back, although we found if you get to the Funiculaire around 800-815am you will find space to park in the bays on the road free of charge all day as there is a height restriction barrier in car park at Funiculaire. There was no snow in the village or on approach roads but plenty of snow once up the mountain with all but 2 runs/lifts open, this was at Villaroger cos low down it had no snow. BUT heavy snow was forecast the night we left and by February there should be more. Free shuttle buses again once up the mountain taking you from Arc 1600 to Arc 1800 and so on. But you can take motorhome up to the ski resorts if you wish, there’s plenty of parking. To access Les Arcs by road turn right out of the site and just follow the road. We found Arc 1800 to be very busy and big queues for lifts, preferred 1600 and runs near the ski school. Fantastic views. Loved it. Enjoy.

Good feedback, moonlight. There's an Aire up at Arc 1600 by the funicular station too, if you fancy staying nearer the slopes and don't need a campsite. When we had the kids with us we found campsites generally more relaxing, it has to be said!
