I'd love to know the cost of this conversion - excluding the van / labour. This is often left out of peoples self build accounts but to anyone considering it (me!) It's the crucial bit!

Does anyone know if this was mentioned in MMM?

Only one criticism, why use inefficient fibreglass as insulating material, when there are high tech materials on the market that are 10x better.

Because he is a Yorkshireman and probably got it Cheap.

And to reply to addies question.

I think a lot of the cupboards and things he got as clearance items from self build shops. The Worktop I think was a B&Q Clearance, many bits you pay over the odds for from Specialists, he obtained elsewhere. Like the worktop
Sockets.

Steve did explain in great detail. But I was too busy poking around and pulling things out to take too much in.

That looks superb, if it was me some of the bits would have "nearly fitted" and been "straight or level" (but not both!).

Although cost is an important consideration, for many people such an exercise is also very therapeutic and gives them new skills! (AND HOW in his case!)

Thanks for showing us that link,

Dave
