Our set up now is.........

2 x 85 watt solar panels charging the 3 x 100 amp leisure batteries.
1 x Battery Manager (BM1) from CAK Tanks, which utilises any excess charge by trickle charging the starter battery, by up to 4 amps.
1 x Sterling B2B 1250, which comes into it's own, once the alternator is running.

We don't need mains power, but if it is free, or included in the pitch fee, we'll use it. Wink

HTH,

Jock.

Hi I have connected the output from the Solar Panels to the engine battery as the battery voltage rises the Battery to Battery charger then charges the leisure batteries. I have found that this gives a better rate of charge to the leisure batteries than connecting the solar output directly to them. I have tried it both ways over quite some time and found this way is much better.

You do not have to have the engine running any supply to the b2b charger will make it start to charge the leisure batteries as soon as the starter battery reaches its required voltage.

Very interesting! How much difference does it make?
