Amazing the people you meet on forums. I've had great advice on here already and am looking forward to getting out and about in my Tranny.

I've managed to drill out the end of the tie rod and re-tapped it and the new tie bar is fitting fine.

However - just above the tie rod there is a small tube filled with a white metal. It has part number W80822 on it.
It is 40mm long, 7mm diameter with a 5mm thread on one end which is approx 10mmm long and it has 3 flat faces just before the thread.

I suspect it may be some sort of safety/overheating device?

It is broken and I was hoping someone might know what it is and where I could source one?

Fingers crossed.
