I have a Dometic tec 29 generator on my Hymer S820, there doesn't seem to be any fuel reaching the fuel filter. I have drained the fuel tank and then disconnected the fuel pipe from the fuel filter and blown through it into the tank and it is clear, I filled with fresh petrol, connected the pipe to the fuel filter but when I try to start it no fuel is reaching the fuel filter from the tank. Any ideas how to fix? Thanks Prudence
I've just had my fridge/freezer thermostat repaired by an MHF trade member. He also fitted a couple of brackets to the unit gas pipe FOC. I could not fault the service or cost.

He is mobile, although miles cost. BUT... he specialises in Dometic generators. Maybe worth a call?

So is the fuel gravity fed Paul? or is there a pump to lift it to the carburettor?
Thinking about it, when I overhauled my little Honda generator I was surprised to see a gauze filter over the the fuel outlet at the bottom of the fuel tank. The filter was not removable and could only be seen because it was opposite the filler when looking in. Although there wasn't a blockage there was a significant amount of sludge which could only be removed be taking the tank out and giving it a good swill out with petrol.

there is no pump, the petrol tank is at the same level as the gennie but when I ran it from the external can this was below the gennie at the time? I can not see anywhere in the manual to say how the fuel is fed, there is a in line filter which I have changed but can not see into the tank as this is tucked away in a locker.
Thanks to all who replied to my original question, i got the genny working by using an external fuel supply .There must be a blockage in the petrol tank on the motorhome.I am now trying to remove the tank to clean it out,does anybody know an easy way to do this or has anybody done it? Prudence
