Thanks to all who replied to my original question, i got the genny working by using an external fuel supply .There must be a blockage in the petrol tank on the motorhome.I am now trying to remove the tank to clean it out, does anybody know an easy way to do this or has anybody done it? Prudence

there is no pump, the petrol tank is at the same level as the gennie but when I ran it from the external can this was below the gennie at the time? I can not see anywhere in the manual to say how the fuel is fed, there is a in line filter which I have changed but can not see into the tank as this is tucked away in a locker.

Paul,

If it ran with the external feed below the geny then it MUST have a fuel pump.
I'd have another look.

It must have a pump as Bill says unless there is a priming bubble that can create a syphon. Does it have one?

Dick

Hi Dick,

I take your point but the source must always be higher than the carb to maintain a syphon.

If I remember correctly, the Honda powered Electrolux Traveller 2.5KVA (earlier models) does have a fuel pump, and I believe it to be of the vacuum type.
This might be the case also for the Dometic 29.

Cheers,

Jock.

Can you see the fuel line all the way from the bottom of the tank to the carb?
