Thanks Peedee, the signal bar says 79% top bar and between 68-72% on the bottom bar, so pretty good all round, how do you adjust the presets?

Hi,

We use the receiver from one of the "suitcase systems" ourselves in conjunction with our Camos Dome and haven't had any issues with it.

The receiver is a Comag SL65 (12v) - although it gets re-badged as Tevion, Silvercrest, etc. when coupled with the Aldi / Lidl systems.

So unless the receiver is faulty I don't think that is the cause.

Have you tried re-scanning for the channels?

Does it not tell you in the manual? I think on most you tune manually to the channel you want and save it. You can get the frequencies >here<.

Hi Terry,
I have a Comag SL30 and I have just dug out the manual and I note you can either do a scan of preset channels or an auto scan. If you can do this, try the auto scan on Astra2 rather than a scan of preset channels. Unfortunately I cannot work through it as my receiver is in the motorhome and is currently not set up with a dish.

Hi

Can you re-boot the receiver?

There may be a pinhole re-boot facility or maybe you just switch it on and off (with the switch, not the remote) or pressing two or three buttons at the same time. You will need to find this out from the manual or online but I fix the occasional fault on our zehnder by just switching it on and off.

This may not work but it will be cheaper than changing the receiver.

Thanks again all, I have tried every which way available on the menu, I have scanned via preset, for all chanels, just free chanels, TV & radio, and even the one where it thinks it is the very first install, all with the same out come, I have even deleted all stored items and started from scratch, but still the same, to me it seems like a new receiver, but which one, freesat or FTA?

Update

Brought the receiver into the house and plugged into the sky dish, did a rescan and downloaded a lot more chanels than it did when in the van, the signal strength was slightly less than when in the van, why would this be, any ideas?

Hi Tezza
There is a good chance your problem is allied to voltage fluctuation, however if you know you always have more than 12v its unlikely. From what you say the problem lies with the feed from the dome. Try an attenuator on the line to just turn down the signal power fractionally then see if its OK. Sat boxes can actually get too much info from dishes sometimes and as you say your indoor setup works with a lesser signal so that could be your answer. Finally there is nothing wrong with the silver crest box. Its 12v It will operate down here with multiple sat but a freesat box will only work on astra 2. If you want HD and dont leave the UK then maybe freesat but frankly in a MH is HD so important? Try an attenuator before spending out on another box, you may be pleasantly surprised and save money. If you cant find a suitable attenuator PM me and I will post one to you. They are very small and easy to install Smile
