Thois has been brilliant for the last eighteen months. Now got a problem, switching the vehicle ignition on with the system on caused the dish to park itself as it should (and as it has done in the past). But now we can't get the dish to go up again. We can hear a small click up on the roof, but no other action. We have tried tracing the wiring, but have got a bit lost. Any clues or pointers will be gratefully received.

Mant Thanks in advance!

Robin

Hi

I had a similar thing happen once. I went in to the settings screen on the menu and then the antenna page. I then chose "move antenna to park position" (even though it was already parked). I let the system have a few moments for a rest and a cup of tea, switched the receiver off etc and then later, powered up as normal. It has only happened the once. I do not know if what I did is an official fix, but it worked for me, so it is your call if you try it.

Russell

Thanks for the suggestion, Russell. I can't find that option - The only way I know how to park the antenna with the Kathrein is to press the standby switch on the remote twice. This normally displays a parking antenna on the display - However, this is not responding now. Whatever I have tried I am getting no or bad signal messages

I expect you have one wire which I think is brown with a inline fuse that will be coming from a source which is powered when you switch the IGN on and goes to the dish, Check the fuse. Or on the remote press menu then antenna configuration then park antenna. I cant exactly remember the menu setup but think this is correct. If not you will still find an option to park the turntable in there. I am assuming you are not seeing a message saying the connection to the turntable has failed but if you are that will be another fault which is easily solved. Tomorrow when I am home I can look at the menu and see exactly the sequence. What russel did may be all you need to do.

Hi Robin, only just seen your post, if you need advice voltages etc please contact me as I'm in the van today and can help, thats if you have the cap910. I have not had the problem, so far but if you hear a click it sounds a lack of volts but without have a detailed fault report i'm only guessing.... by now I assume all is better..

No not yet, Russell. I cannot find any reference to parking ithe antenna, neither in the manual nor in the the settings menu. I have always done this by pressing the standby button on the remote twice. This does not have any effect now. I guess it is down to tracing the wiring through which we hope to have a go with at the weekend.

Thanks
Robin

Thank you very much for your reply, Clive - It is the Cap910 system and no its not sorted. - I am a bit of a dumbo technically - so I am hoping my stepson will be able to help me sort it at the week-end as he is a lot more clued up - will post you if anything.

Ok robin, have a good look at the volts on the receiver/control unit, from the main supply you need a good 12 volts if its below say 12 volts when you start the dish motors the control unit will just cut out... thats the first thing to look at, and then make sure the D+ volts are 0 volts and not 12volts that will hold down the dish as well as it should. I assume you are getting the Katherin menue on your tv screen ok? might also be worth removeing the power plug and leave it out for 1 minute or so just to check the receiver unit has not locked up. PM me if you would like to and I'll give you my contact details so that you can call me if needed....
