With respect, you keep banging on about RoadPro, yet you bought the Kathrein from a dealer.

It is the dealer that should have tested the unit, it is the dealer that should have shown you how to use the thing, it is the dealer that should have set the thing up, it is the dealer that should have supplied you a suitable recording device IF they told you that it would record.

However, if you have (as you have from the sound of it) realised that there is an "option" to record it would be up to you to source and buy a suitable hard drive to record to not RoadPro

As it is C7Ken has offered you the best advice as the set up that he uses it excellent so go and buy a Iomega Pro HD Media Player/Recorder and you will have a great set up

Eddie

Hi Eddie

Our dealer was unable to get the system to work so we had to have roadpro to sort it. I think our dealer is por the 'dome' however, was too high for us. Willtake advice rer recording devices given, and trust all will be ok now

Regards

Cally

A device like my Iomega is made by several companies, We have 2 Iomega's and 1 Dane Electric "So Speaky" player/recorder all work fine with the Kathrein and all have a really easy to use interface, Some units like Voxter I did not find so easy to use. If I can help further just ask Smile

This string has been very interesting. I have had exactly the same issue as Robin with my Kathrein CAP910 system. I purchased the system in May and all worked ok after installation until one evening when I left the satellite dish up overnight in error. In the morning I tried to lower it but the system would not respond. I switched the receiver on and off and still nothing happened. I turned the ignition on and the dish retracted ok. From then on the dish would not move and all I got was a slight click from the roof. I tried everything without success. As soon as I tried to get into the antenna configuration folder in the menu the CAP would not initialize and everything would freeze. This sounded so similar to the issue that Robin had except that I couldn't get in the menu to reset the CAP. I eventually had to arrange for the system to be returned to Germany to be repaired under warranty. It returned this week after a month!! All is now ok but I am none the wiser as to what was wrong. Getting information from and dealing with Germany is not ideal for a non German speaker. My wife and I are travelling to Portugal and Spain shortly to hibernate until March. I bought this system after a lot of research as I beleive it has the best coverage of all in southern Spain and portugal. I hope I am not disapponted further.
