I've been trying in vain to do a search on the SBMCC site, I finally managed to log on and change my password to one I might remeber for a couple of days.
It's a free site as far as far as I know, been a member since 08 never used the site, I just registered as it was only a dream of doing our own, but I do have some skills and wanted to help others, thereby increasing my own skills.
I'll have a look into that subs lark though and see. Ta.
How am I supposed to evaluate the site if I can't search, it seems a bit self defeating to me.
I wouldn't mind the subs too much with the site content hopefully being more limited to the philosophy of self build and not what's going on in the rest of the world, as I can get all that on here, with people I've learned to either trust or ignore.
Looking at the forum index http://sbmcc.co.uk/forum/index.php?act=idx there's only one "Miscellaneous" forum, and tons about gas and electrics and plumbing and the like.
I was a member a few years ago, before it became subscription, and it seemed a great place for practical advice.
I would fully recommend it to anyone doing a selfbuild. I joined as I started doing mine and found it invaluble. When my subs came up for renewal I had basically finished my self build but I renewed and will continue doing so. Its nice giving info back and to keep up wiht what the guys are doing.
