Good bit of kit and worked 95% of time with our 2 iphones. Easy to use and set up. Occasionally lost the plot and switching it on and off fixed it. Got the bill today and only spent a couple of quid more than the 50MB daily allowance. Crap battery life 2-3 hours of use but probably been abused. Was plugged in most of the time so was not a problem.
The device however is available on line for £71 including some airtime.

and faster devices are available too

As for the network - whipping the back off revealed a vodaphone sim card. PAYG gives you 25MB per day for £2 a day.

In summary if you are likely to use it more often than one 2 week period go by the device unlocked on ebay and pop a vodaphone sim in it and off you go.

Interesting!

Vodafone Data Traveller (the £2/day PAYG you mention) bans tethered usage but I'm not sure how that would work on a MiFi type device - since you could connect a phone / laptop / whatever to it and how would they know. Hmmmm!

Did you go for the multi country option? Were you able to detect if it was a UK Vodafone Sim? The 50MB/day is double the data traveller allowance so maybe it is a euro one - will have to look.

I suspect the country specific ones which are 'unlimited' like France would use a local sim card for France.

Thanks for posting the feedback!

I took the back off - it was clearly a branded vodaphone card - I suspect tep have a bulk account with them to get the price down further.
Yes had multi country version - it conected to a variety of networks when on continent - didnt seem restricted.
The mini wifi router though is great - just like being at home and can be popped in your pocket if you go out.
