I am also a lone female motorhomer. I started out 14 months ago knowing nothing at all about it. Thanks to this website and all the lovely folk on here, l can now cope with it all quite well. If there is anything l need to know, l only have to ask and lots of brilliant advice comes flooding in.
Just keep your instruction manual to hand and whenever you have a problem or feel unsure you can refer to it. Do give it a thorough read to start though just to make sure you don't do anything which could cause harm, like running your pump dry or using your water heater on gas without removing the cowling.
Think about joining a solo group there are quite a few to chose from, and maybe think about signing up for some rallies.
Thanks to you all for your encouragement and advice, don't feel quite so on my own... looking forward to meeting some of you in the near future, will be booking my first over nighter soon... so hope to report all well... just in case though.... any recommendations for breakdown insurance to include travelling abroad?
cheers Francine x

I had bought AA UK breakdown at first, without thinking about it, as it seemed the most popular.
But when I went abroad, they were really expensive for a two week trip - breakdown insurance was loads.
Then, when I changed insurer on my van at the end of the first year (Comfort went up to silly amount and MHF was much better) I found that MHF would have offered me breakdown insurance for way less than the AA and including overseas.
The thing I don't know is whether the service would be as good - I did call out the AA last year (when I got stuck in mud at a campsite) and they were there within 20 mins, no questions asked.
