prob/ is good on a griddle if you've got one I cook mine in the oven as opposed to a breadmaker which I would think would make it heavy
but saying that I've never tried it in the breadmaker. Hezbez maybe you could try the oven /griddle and report back !!!

Us Scots call ita girdle.
Mum, (taught by her Irish mother), used sour milk, or milk with lemon juice in to curdle it.

She cooked her bread in the oven, and her scones on the girdle. she also did sweet scones made the same way but with the addition of syrup. Hot from the girdle, fresh butter and a bit of syrup, my mouth is watering. Have never managed to make any that are a patch on hers.

Love it also with cheese, toasted under a grill think I am gaining pounds just thinking about it Laughing
