My youngest son has been extolling the virtues of a juicer (mind you, he has only just bought it! ) and has got me wondering if it would be a good idea for me.
I eat plenty of fruit & veg so cant quite get my head round drinking them instead, also it seems more expensive to do it this way. Not sure if I fancy the idea of juiced broccoli!!
I just wondered if anyone has one and is it used and enjoyed or is it sitting in the cupboard along with the other - seemed like a good idea at the time - stuff
SWMBO was excited by all of the hype about juicers a few years ago. Soon realised that it is a lot of faff making the juice and even more so cleaning. It is also an aquired taste and the amount of juice that you get, unless you have a cheap supply, does make it quite expensive.
It too has stayed in the cupboard since it was a few weeks old.
Gerry
Ours too is never used now
You tend to go a bit cranky in the firstb 2-3 weeks trying stuff out but the novely wears off. Apples turn brown just like a bit apple does if left.
Oranges have to be peeled and bananas too sticky really. The only good thing we found is when we got a glut of tomatoes tis can be juiced as it removed the pips but oterwise i dont rate then unless you have the time and remember to buy stuff to juice when you go shopping

It really works out so expensive to make the juice as it seems to take a lot of fruit.
I do Liquidize now and again and then we have the skin and all the goodness.
The Fresh Juices you buy from the cold fridges in a Store are lovely and fresh.
À tous mes amis du forum thankyou pour toutes vos pensées agréables et avec son amour derrière moi je lutterai contre mon conflit avec un esprit de postive et le triomphe
We're with the "stays in the cupboard" brigade. It makes lovely juice but by the time you've spent ages tooth-picking bits out of the machinery and assembling and disassembling a dozen parts you've forgotten how good it was.
Making smoothies in the liquidiser is just as delicious and a whole lot cleaner and quicker and every bit as good for you !
After the first week or so decided it produced too little juice for the amount of 'stuff' consumed, it was too difficult to clean and just too much hassle generally.
