I bought my dad one as he had problems even with the easyfind decoder. We tried it, much much easier, red when not in the right area, then yellow and flashing yellow, green when locked on. the next day we kept the dish in the same place but we'd gone and bought a new tv, I rushed the install and accidently moved the decoder onto looking for 19.2. The led on the lnb was flashing red, couldn't work it out *it's where the satellite was yesterday, damn thing, etc etc* then went and checked the decoder and realised it was me Embarassed so yup it works....

BUMP

anyone else with views on this one ?

We can set up our dish in the garden, no problems, yet to manage away from home. Don't watch often, but would be nice to have the capability if we wanted to.

We have one of the maplins easy find kits as a backup in case we can't get freeview. I had a trial run at the Shrewsbury show as I could see where other peoples dishes were pointed. Although it is so much easier than a normal dish I would say it does take a bit of getting used to. I have since used it at a site near East Grinstead as we couldn't get Freeview. There were a few other dishes so that gave me a clue. The direction is easy to get but it is the elevation that was causing me problems.
Once I realised that the dish needed to be angled up then scanned South to East then up a little more and try again and so on I found the light on the end great.
I put the dish back in the box while we went out for the day and set it back up when we got back. It took less than 30 seconds to get a green light as I knew the direction and realised I also had to adjust the vertical position.

I would say the easy lnd system is great. You do need the lnb and the easy lnb compatible receiver.

Hope that helps?

It is easier with Easyfind, but as mentioned you need a compatible receiver alongside the LNB. This is because on the receiver you choose the sat you want to receive from, and then the red/amber/green led on the LNB only responds to that sat.

This means there is no chance of pointing to the wrong sat, as you can with a normal signal strength meter (that reponds to any and all sats). That is the thing that makes it easier to work with.

Whether it is worth the investment is your choice, of course. I have changed to it, and find it worthwile.
