Well I have read over the past 3 days much information on here about Solar panels, with posts as far back as 2008. Shocked
Obviously there has been much improvements since then, I hope.
I wish to charge 3 batteries, 2 of them 110v leisure. My existing set up does this.
I am considering a 130 watt panel and have plenty of room on the roof. It also looks as if there is provision for the cable already.
Who would you recommend to fit this and which panel and control is most likely to be suitable.
We are on the south east coast, so somewhere between say Chichester and Hastings. Unless of course there is free overnight provision.

We have a 130w panel on the roof installed by Moore Power in Newhaven. It is managed by a Steca 1010 feeding 2 x 96Ah batteries with a battery master and a 1800 inverter. Never had to charge the batteries in 3+ years and spend a lot of time on Aires in France.

The last post has jogged my memory. The installation was carried out by Moore Power at Newhaven but sadly they went into liquidation over a year ago.

Our regulator is also the Steca 1010 with a 1800 inverter. Must confess that we rarely use the inverter since we changed the TV/DVD to a 12v model.

It's a compressor fridge which runs from 12v and I've seen a VW battery go flat overnight!

and yet mine kept going for 7 days on 2 x 110Ah batts with using the van electrics as normal. Take the compressor fridge rating draw and multiply that by your hours usage remembering that the compressor ONLY runs 50% of the time in 35C and only about 33% time below about 25C.

My current van is a 3 way condenser, given the choice I would have a compressor.

Satisfied now I´ve gotten rid of my Marquis supplied Autocruise- both were rubbish!
