I want to be able to connect an external gas BBQ to a take off point on the floor of my gas locker but I cannot find a suitable fitting. The only ones I have seen are those that you fit into the wall of the Camper! I want one that has an on/off tap that I can plug the BBQ into that bolts to the floor.
Hi Both
I think you will find the regs advise against what you require but if anyone has what you want it will be CAK tanks who so loads of accessories including gas taps.
You can see their brochure online i think.
I know a lot of folks dont like the thought of drilling through the gel coat of their vans but you can look at having a side housing in the skirt if thats better. Or do what i do and take a camping gas 907 bottle and run the BBQ off this. You can position it anywhere conveinient then

Thanks for your reply and my apologies for the tardy response.
You were right, CAK Tanks have exactly what I had been looking for but unfortunateky the BBQ I was looking to get will not work with the 30 mb in the Camper so I have given up the idea. I just fancied a change from the COBB, so was going to get a Cadac Safari, but SOGAS in Southampton explained the lack of pressure I would have and I don't particuarly want to carry another cylinder with me now that I have Gaslow fitted.
We have a cadac safari connected to a built in gas point on our M/H with a 2m hose and it works fine. No loss of pressure and would not now use anything else.
I don't understand? I have a 30 mb regulator and my BBQ T'd off the cooker feed and the safari Chef works fine. How can there be a loss of pressure unless there is a leak.
We have an external gas point connected to our grill pipe on a T junction. I too can never understand why people don't want a fitting on wall of van when there are loads of grills and fitments there anyway. It is one with the on/off tap inside it so I have no worries about leaks or accidents.
It works perfectly with our cadac and has for 5 years now.

Hi Guys.
We have recently purchased a Cadac Safari Chef similal to the one in Techno's picture and it works very well through our BBQ point.
I might add that Cadac sell two types, one is high pressure which I presume does not use a regulator and the one that we have is the low pressuer variety.
On reading the instructions it does state for use with a 37 mb regulator, however it works well through our 30mb regulator even with over 3 metres of rubber gas pipe.

She should nt look so worried, its ok we can see the bottle is still half full from this angle
There can be a loss of pressure if the bore of the pipe cant physicaly carry the amount of gas demanded by the apliances due to undersizing it...

I have been running a Cadac Safari Chef on 30mb from Gaslow (via van regulator) using 3m of 8mm flexible hose. It works fine. I wanted a longer hose occasionally and have just bought 5m of 10mm hose to avoid pressure loss but I don't think it was necessary
I fitted my own external point but can understand your desire not to drill a 2" hole in the side of your MH.
Go ahead with your original idea. SOGAS are wrong as mine proves. Cadac Safari Chef comes in two pressure versions, were they thinking of the other one?
