Most, and certainly any recent (post 2000?) motorhomes will have the regulator fixed to a bulkhead. This feeds into a rigid pipe that supplies the units in the motorhome. (There is not a regulator attached directly to the gas bottle.) So to connect a barbecue to the installed regulator would require you to disconnect it from the fixed, rigid pipe first. Not something to be recommended. It's much easier to T-into one of the pipe runs at a suitable point, and connect a dedicated external point to that, again using rigid pipe between T-point and external gas point. Good practice too, to fit an isolation valve before the external point so it can be switched off if for any reason, the cutoff on the external connector fails.

Sorry I do not understand 'opposite' side.

You could end up cooking in the sun and taking the food round to the shady side.

So I do not see how there is a right/wrong or opposite/aposite side.

I thought that I made the point very clear.

yes, I put my external (Bullfrog) connection on the habitation door side for this reason as I can either be under the awning or outside it with a 3m hose. I now also carry a 5m hose so I can get behind or in front of the MH to get out the wind if this is a problem, (or back to the opposite side if necessary) Very Happy

Sorry for dragging up and old topic, but if I was to fit a BBQ point inside the locker, couldn't I just connect a T-piece directly into the low pressure side of the regulator, and connect the van's rigid pipe supply and the BBQ point into this T-piece?

I'm happy enought to admit I'm wrong, however, I've never been in such a position.
