I am on the way home and the installer came to meet me and has fixed the dome....thanks Rob of Auto-mate.
It was set to 0* skew so he has corrected it. The receiver was not happy as the satellite was not seeing a satellite and has now properly installed and all is fine.
Ha ha I need a holiday now to test it ....
hi 4maddogs. rob is the man for Sat's-trackers- alarms & engine remapping which we would use him anytime.jud

People often ask what the advantage of the (optional) auto-skew feature on the RoadPro sat-domes is. Question answered!

Just trying to help out by providing some factual information Shane. I was under the impression that that was largely the point of a forum such as this.
I do hope that's OK with you and I'm sorry if you find that approach boring or tiring.

Andy
maybe you can help me Andy, have the "teething problems" with the mk4 camos been rectified now? And, can there really be a benefit to autoskew on such a small dish... does the extra cost justify any potential gains in reception and have you tested autoskew camos v fixed lnb camos?
I understood that the new Roadpro dome is the same (?) as the new Maxview dome?
My issue was because the dome was not set up in the factory rather than a problem with the dome.
I can recommend Rob from Auto-mate. he has been really helpful and put himself out to help get it right.

I’m always happy to help anyone Shane. You know my e-mail address: feel free to contact me at any time. However, this post has nothing to do with Camos systems and I really don't understand why you think it's relevant or useful to bring them into the discussion.
We now distribute sat-domes with our own name on: "RoadPro powered by Wiworld". Wiworld is the manufacturer of the Mk2 Camos sat-domes as well as the Maxview and VDO units and we are working closely with them to produce a complete range of sat-domes specially designed for UK users at home and on the continent which are as good as they can possibly be.
One of the ways to achieve best performance is to get the skew exactly right and I got involved in this discussion because the Maxview dome - which is the subject of the thread – apparently wasn’t working correctly simply because the LNB skew was wrong.
If the sat-dome had been fitted with an auto-skew LNB, the original poster would not have had the problem that they did. I think that answers your question don’t you?
Oh, yes, since you ask: I have tested the auto-skew versions of both the Camos sat-domes (tested in Spain last year) and the RoadPro model (in Faro, Portugal last week) and I can report that they both worked perfectly, exactly as they should.
