Art?
Science?
Or in my case, luck!
With the advent of digital technology I suspect it is more a science nowadays |

Digital cameras have revolutionised photography and given everyone the opportunity to 'play' and experiment as much as they want.
It has brought photography 'out of the closet' or is that the 'darkroom' .. |

Buy a big memory card and click, click, click away.
Download all the photos to your PC and delete the junk, you're bound to end up with at least a few good ones! |

I think its a bit of all three
Art - You eye your shot up
Science - You gotta know how to work the damn camera!
Luck - Sometimes needed in large amounts... |

Nearly all digital cameras are now 'point and shoot' but it's not the quality of the camera or lens that determines if a pic is good or not ..
some of the best pictures ever were taken with a pin hole camera..
it's the person composing the shot .... and that's art !
An example of pin hole photography.

Well I think my photos have got a lot better since having a digital camera, as Daveand carol said you can take 100's of photos then delete the ones that did not work, I have got some good animal photos as a result of being able to click away without it costing the earth, but I guess the real proffesionals and artists can still erese the bad shots in their minds before committing themselves to celluloid.
Didn't the proffesionals used to take Poloroids first to check all was OK or have I dreamt that ? |

Been taking photographs since 1959.
Wish I could take a good 'un!
Been using 5% of what photoshop has to offer, for ages. It is a proffesional bit of tacke.
But just found Googles Picara2 to store, sort, view & edit diggy photos. Its free, amazingly easy to use and although its not all singing & dancing, it's damn close.
Give it ago, well worth looking thru it.
Google main page, click on more and down load Picara 2. |

Forgive me for seeming thick, but how the hull do you put pictures in a reply?
Many is the time that I would like to include a picture to illustrate what I am talking about, but am unable to through lack of knowledge.
Please be gentle with me.

Hi Texas
First upload your pictures to an online album like ' Photobucket '
Only registered users can see links on our Forum Join Now or Login |
This will enable you to add the 'url' of your photo to your post using the 'insert image' button ..
Sounds complex but it's real easy |
