If it were me, I'd really try to find one that could work for you and will fit on your drive.

Compromise is the name of the game.

For me, fitting on the drive would be first priority and I'd be prepared to compromise on other aspects.

Hi Willy

Welcome to the forum. Interesting question.

Can I ask - what sort of budget do you have? Are you likely to be buying something older, which might need more maintenance? This could be a factor.

I know a lot of fellow MHF-ers with vans in storage, and they seem to manage OK. A friend living locally can fit their van on their drive, but still chooses to keep it in a storage facility. He has no problems, and I'm sure it's just a case of getting used to loading up your car before collection, probably with the help of a checklist.

I know you say parking on the road is not an option, but is it an option to collect the van and park it outside whilst you load up? At least, for the first couple of times until you know what you need to take with you.

Gerald

Hiya,

I thought exactly the same until someone pointed out that everyone will know when you're away.We found a farm nearby where it is easilly accesable.

Justa thought, good luck and happy m/homing.

Hiya

Our camper is too big Wink

Space is always nice, but you will fit it with stuff you think you need, but in fact only want and could do without, if you get that?!

Good luck choosing!

Jason

Another vote for keeping at home if possible
Agree with most of whats been posted already
I would add that I would worry more about the van getting broken into while in storage than getting the house broken into because the van is not on the drive

I forgot to mention - anotheradvantage of parking it on the drive - you have an extra bedroom if folks come to visit! We've used ours several times!

Park ours on the drive in front of bedroom window.
When we returned from holiday a couple of weeks ago and in th eprocess of emptying the mh my neighbour asked "Are you going away Dave."

She had not noticed that the mh had been missing for 11 days.
It sits about 6 feet from her bedroom window.
