Keith has 'found' a rack and put that in, so will give it a go at Peterborough rally at the end of the month. I will not hold my breath though. The oven space is so small I will need to raid Tom Thumb's kichen now.

I suppose you could stick to "food in a box" and use the microwave.....Sainsbury's do some very nice TV dinners!

So now we have the mechanics sorted out, time to look at niggly problems.
American oven. .............
Sharon
There's only one answer to this. Rip the dammed thing out and replace it with a British oven. American RV's are great! American ovens are rubbish!
I bought a Stoves 500DIT from Lyme Kiln Marina in Wolverhampton. They were the cheapest i could find and were certainly cheaper than any Motorhome/RV dealer. Cost me about £390 but even after fuel cost to collect it I saved about 150quid over everyone else I could find. Fitted it myself in about 4 hours including retrimming the work top to provide a neat finish.
You will notice that British ovens use 28/36MBars pressure where-as American systems run on 27 MBars. Dont worry, I spoke to the Technical department at Stoves who told me thier units are tested down to 25MBars and that the worst case scenario is that the unit might not get quite as hot.
Wifey, who is a qualified chef, assures me this is not so and that the performance of the unit is fantastic. I'm inclined to agree if the quality of the food she's produced on it is anything to go by! It's much easier to use with a bigger oven space, 4 off different sized rings for more accurate heat settings and has a decent sized grill.
What it doesn't have is a stupid horizontal sheet which heats upo to ridiculous degrees, charcoals anything that touches it and fills the coach with acrid blue smoke.........thank God!
Very expensive (well I think it is for what it is) but worth every penny.........errrrr if you'll pardon the contradiction!

That's interesting zaskar. Thanks. Def food for thought....
I am wondering if I can conquer this beast and reading your reply maybe a new one will be required in due course.
Thanks to everyone for their replies.

Took Rockie away Sat night and decided to give it one last go with the oven. Pizza. Readymade. How difficult can that be?
Well, I'll tell you. Bottom black and crunchy, cheese on top not even melted. And it was a thin crust pizza!!!!!!! (Yes I did use wire rack)
So I have now given up, Keith has bought me a replacement today and hopefully will collect it in the next few days and have it fitted. How else is he going to get his fruit crumbles and cakes??
