Thanks. As we are having a lazy day I might take the cover off and have another look. The bottom vent outside provides access I think to the flu and burner.

There is nobody around for miles so I should only blow myself up. Will send mrs d off on her bike

No go I'm afraid. I've had all the vents off outside and can't see any way of accessing the flu or burner. I've also had the front of the fridge off to see what's wrong with the ignition.

Can't find anything so I've given up. I reckon it's a fridge out job and if that's the case it will definately have to wait till we get home.

I took some pics but as I'm using my iPhone and mobile mhf I can't post them till I get wifi.

Cheers

Hi

I know its an old thread now but just to update all of you who kindly participated and hopefully anyone who comes across it in the future that the fridge was fixed just before we went away at Christmas.

They did have to take it right out to do it though but the whole lot was coming out anyway to fit new timbers and panels. Turned out it was the jet / burner thing. I think the part cost a fiver.

Anyway it all seems fine now.

Thanks all

Barry

Hi

For the benefit of others, we had a similar problem a year or so ago and finally Dave Newell took the fridge freezer out and gave the flue a proper brushing out. That solved the problem. Since then he does the same thing each year as part of the annual habitation inspection/service. Well worth it!

There are a lot of helpful comments on the forum but believe me if your fridge is smelling then you need to see a motorhome engineer as a matter of urgency. You may have incomplete combustion and that means carbon monoxide is being produced and that kills. Don't mess see a trained engineer and get it sorted.

Hi barryd.

If you aim to travel to Spain you may find that there is a large amount of dirt / oil in some of the gas cylinders. The fridge jet / burner can do with cleaning every 3 months if you do a long stay.

Learn how to remove the gas pipe from the fridge gas valve to the burner unit. At the end of the gas pipe where it goes into the burner there is a small pressed tin jet only tiny and do not lose it. Just blow it to clean it do not poke any thing in it as it might expand the jut size which will then burn to much gas and overheat.
