Why do I have to register ?

You do not have to register to access the majority of the site, only some aspects require registration such as the forums, this allows accountability in cases of slander etc and also allows the system to have your email on record to inform you when someone updates a topic that you posted.

Registration is free and the only information that is required is your name/nickname and your email address. The only item out of those that has to be correct is your email address as otherwise your registration email will not get to you and your account will not get activated.

· How do i register ?
Registration is a fairly easy, straightforward process as follows:-

Click on the "login/Create" link at the top left or click the link below:-

Ensure that the email address you register with is a fully working account as you will recieve a confirmation email to that address shortly. If you either don't recieve the email or forget to look at it within 24 hours then you will have to re-register as the accounts are auto deleted within 24 hours if they are not activated as a precautionary security measure.

When you recieve the confirmation email, there will be a link within it which you will need to either click on within your email program (Outlook etc) or copy and paste into the address bar of your browser, if your mail client (Outlook, Outlook Express, Eudora etc) wraps the activation link across multiple lines then you will need to cut n paste it. This then activates your account on motorhomefacts. This basically confirms that your email is working and that you will be able to recieve update emails etc

Once your account has been activated you will be able to login, either by going to

or by clicking this link

· I can't login, or get access to some parts of the site ?
Have you created an account and then activated it by clicking on the url within the confirmation email ?

if you have done so then something else may be preventing this such as security applications running in the background which are preventing cookies, or your browser settings may be set too high (You can go into Internet explorer and add

to the allow list for cookies if this is the case)

Sorry to post this here but it seems to be the only forum I can access.

For the last two days I have been clicking on my access icon only to have the error page displayed.

I can access the site by typing in the web address but cannot access the forums to make a reply or add a post. I left a message in the 'shout' box.

Is their something wrong with the server as the error page intimates or is it just a temporary gliche?

Texas

Very Happy Hi Texas. I've been having problems myself to access MHF at all. I emailed Dave and he said it was a DNS cache problem. I cleared the cache but still had a problem on AOL accessing MHF. I then tried Explorer. It worked for a short time then reacted the same as AOL. I then tried Firefox. That worked OK for while and then that did the same. When I booted up this morning. No access to MHF through AOL or Explorer or Firefox. Cleared the DNS cache again and I am now accessing MHF through Explorer. Rolling Eyes Shocked Confused
To clear the DNS cache? Go to
Start
All Programs
Accessories
Command Prompt
At the C:\ command prompt enter the following:-
ipconfig/flushdns
It should say DNS flushed or something similar. Type exit at the C:\ prompt to exit DOS.
Then try accessing MHF again. The DNS cache can also be cleared by simply re-booting the computer. I think one of the problems can also be with the Internet settings of History, Cookies and Files saved on the computer. You can clear these (beware all your saved automatic passwords will be deleted) by :-
Start
Control Panel
Internet Options
Clear History
Delete Cookies
Delete Files

Hope this helps to solve the problem? Wink

Hi,
I am relieved to see other people are having problems, I have been tearing my hair out convinced it was something I had done.
My symptoms started on my laptop, using Firefox (my normal), I was continually being diverted to cPanel, saying there was no site at that address.
Then Explorer started to do the same thing - I tried all the various settings that I thought might be causing it (I had not changed anything that I knew of) and couldn't find anything wrong.
So I tried my PC and the same thing happened with Firefox, again I checked everything. Eventually I have managed to get through using Explorer on my PC.
Does anyone, particularly Nuke know what is going on? Especially why do I get sent to cPanel? It only started a day or so ago.
