we tracked the glitch down finally

wont get too techy but the two servers that tell your computers where mhf is have different addresses listed for the site, so if your pc talks to one server it gets the right address, whereas the other server gives your pc the wrong place Smile

It will be resolved over the next 24 hours as dns change propogates around the world Smile

Hi Nuke,
Thanks for that, is there any possible way that we can be informed as soon as there is a known problem - say by a mass email?
I have wasted most of yesterday thinking there was something wrong at my end!

Shocked Confused I've just got back in again by re-booting the computer after having cleared all the previous history etc first. I even installed Opera and Netscape and they all came up with the same rubbish. Hope it all clears up soon. Other member's will be pulling their hair out or throwing the computer out the window. I nearly did. Wink

Back after over four hours of "error not found"
Is this the same problem that showed me as being "online" three times about 11.30pm on Friday? See "I've been cloned"

I'm not getting the problem, i think because i've got one dns server thats got the correct info.

Some may be able to get around the problem this way.

You can put 2 dns servers in your dial up or network connection and one in your router id you have one.

I have the btopenworld dns server in the router, which is assigned automatically. In the network connection you can put a primary and secondary. With a router your first is the router gateway number

Put you normal dns server in as a primary, and a known good one in the secondary.

either nuke can post a good one to use as a secondary, or i'll have a search to see what works

Actually bt's should work 213.120.62.100 - i think

Don't try this unless you know what you are doing - if you do, you get the drift, just have a search for differant isp dns servers and try them untill you get here.

Sorry If this is in the wrong place, but every time I try my usual route into the site I keep getting the message 'THERE IS NO WEB SITE CONFIGURED AT THIS ADDRESS' from 'cpanel' .

Not being a computer geek this is the only forum I can access.

When I try to enter any other forums or attempt to reach administration I continually get the 'error' page.

Is this just a temporary problem?

Texas

Glad to GET IN today!!
Been having the same problems as everyone else but at the time thought it was just me, went from PC to laptop with no luck, text Dave but hadn't a clue about this DNS thing!!! Got in and managed to add some photos in the aires album and then next day no luck!!! So reading Nukes post hopefully its now sorted.
Its amazing how despondent one gets when you can't access the site.

Shocked I'm still having problems with access through AOL. Then again AOL is a pain at the best of times. Luckily I can get in using Explorer. Wink
