We too live in rural France and both have 3G Kindles. We love them for the reading but find the internet access can be a bit hit and miss. Not a way forward IMHO if you are looking for internet access as its main use, but smashing for being able to access English reading material!

Hi
I know the VDT contract is £10 but this is an add-on to a normal contract.
Kind regards

They're on Vodafone.

But I wouldn't exactly call the coverage good. "3" coverage wipes the floor with Vodafone for 3G coverage in my experience. I use both and would recommend "3" unless (slow) GPRS coveragee is important to you.

I wouldn't say that. At home I have to move round to find somewhere in the house to download my daily paper and new books. The most I've ever had is 2 bars. We've just come back from Kingsbury and there is only GPRS or Edge available there and it takes ages to get the paper.

We have never had any problem downloading books even in France

and Germany Don't bother with newspapers so couldn't comment on that

At home we have a WiFi connection and Virgin broadband super fast downloading throughout the house and garden

No password so probably very good in the street outside

So for any passing motor homers the co-ordinates are Laughing Laughing Laughing

I do my bit
