I really looked forward to having and using all my apps on holiday in France. I had maps, information, and translation apps. I had a tracker so that I could record where I went on my holiday. All great stuff, and the ability to pick up my emails any time any where.

Only one problem >>

Data roaming abroad isnt included in my plan and the cost of leaving it on would land me a bill of several hundred pounds. So it would have to be switched off.

All my apps, my email even weather apps >> useless!!!

I even found the number of wifi spots seem to be fewer than in previous years (Mac D excepted)

Next time I need to register with a french public system but I didnt know how.
We just went through this in France, got a prepadi Orange sim card which worked out pretty well. Did all our email, news, weather, etc.

Was that UK Orange or French Orange jhelm? Do you know what the deal is, expensive? I've got a PAYG Orange 3g sim.

I recently just bought a motor home after saving for years. The most essential app for me is iTriage. iTriage is free and features a great symptom checker. I highly suggest other motor home enthusiasts to download this valuable health app!

Well I have to admit that I never fully understood the terms nor did the people in the Orange store who for example told me I would not be able to use Skype, which was not true, had a couple of nice video conferences with my daughter in Switzerland while in the camper.

Anyway we bought the card at an Orange store in France for 10 Euro, then since it was necessary for us to have internet for work I added another 15 euro after a few days. When you buy the card you get 5 euro of credit or here I'm not sure again 24 hours of free use. For 15 I believe you get 225 megabites of download good for 1 month. At any rate we used it a lot over about 14 days and still have some credit.

The other problem we has was that I did not have the proper Orange software and did not know what codes to put into my TIM software to make it work. At an Orange store in Avignon I asked about this and was told to come back the next day when the man who know how to do it would be there - we left that night. But for what ever the reason the sim card worked fine in my android phone and I just used it as a wireless router to connect with my laptop to the net.
