I had a drain on the vehicle battery which took Peugeot a few days to
to trace.
It was found to be the Phantom Tracker so it had to be disconnected and has now been replaced by a different brand.
I had 7 months of a 1 year subscription remaining but no refund even though the tracker was faulty.
Mark, from Phantom, who contibutes to this forum when he feels like it, promised to get back to me get back to me about a month ago. I am still waiting.
My advice don't have a Phantom fitted have another brand instead.

You obviously haven't had a price for this service in the last few years!
The company do have spiv tendencies IMHO, but I wouldn't do anything about them. In the very very unlikely event that your MH was nicked, you tell the police that there is a tracker fitted and they will ask the previous owner for the details and get the data from Tracker.
If Tracker refused such a request, they would be aiding & abetting and probably obstructing as well. They would co-operate because they could not stand the adverse publicity.
We bought a motorhome with a tracker fitted . when I rang tracker to tell them about the change in ownership , they told me I had to have a new tracker fitted because the subscription had not been paid for in over 2 years. ( something to do with airtime I was told )its cut off after 2 years.
I would never go for the 5 years subscription again because if you sell the van you won’t get a refund also if the tracker fails you won’t get a refund .
Hands up to tracker they did replace our tracker when it had a fault ....Russel sorted us out nice guy
One otherthing make sure you test your tracker now and again , we had no idea our tracker was not working for 3 months , only found out it was not working when we switched back to UK cover.
We had our tracker transfered to the new van and they tranfered the subs foc as i have life time cover

Like Erneboy says, transferring the unit to a new vehicle is one option and would only incur a small admin fee.
That depends on whether you consider £100 to be a small admin fee. If you try to transfer to a new vehicle Phantom will try to sell you their newest super duper model. Just a shame that it is even less reliable than their old model.
I can accept that there is no refund of subscription when selling the vehicle, but it should at least be transferrable. It is certainly transferrable if you buy a new vehicle and have a Phantom device fitted, so no reason why the subscription should not be transferred to a new owner if the current owner does not require a transfer.

Hi
seems common practice, when I purchased a new autosleeper I thought that I would be keeping it a long time. So I purchased a third year on the warranty for £300, the van was so unreliable I sold it after a year but on reading the small print I found that the extended warranty was not transferable.
I don't see why it's unfair. Those are the terms and conditions that have been laid down and its up to the purchaser to decide whether to sign up and accept them or not. It's like saying that if you buy a car park ticket for 3 hours but only use 1 hour you should be entitled to a refund or be able to transfer it to another car. In all the car parks I use, neither are possible.
Personally I wouldnt bother with a tracker. It DOESNT prevent your MH getting stolen, and it MIGHT help find it IF it is stolen.
With modern immobilisers etc it is VERY difficult to steal a vehicle. Something the size of a MH is going to need a VERY large truck to cart it away on, etc etc.
If they are determined to "have yours away" they will do so, and have the kit to locate/deactivate and tracking edevice !!!
Not many MH's get stolen, and if yours is would you REALLY want it back again ??????
Stop worrying about it and just enjoy your new purchase (its insured against theft anyway, and the policy excess is probably LESS than the tracker subscription )
Agreed with the above. Modern MH's are almost impossible to nick unless you have a low loader, or the original keys.
