Eddie, perhaps it was not with yourselves as you may not have installed the alarm in the first place. Mine for example was installed by Solar Solutions in Poole.
What is your position regarding testing and recertifying the alarm if you did not fit it in the first place? It is quite possible that when the vehicle is traded in for the second or third time that the original paperwork has disappeared.

Hi Ray

If we don't install it then to be honest we have nothing to transfer, no records nothing at all. So this means no radio key numbers, no serial number and we cannot issue insurance documentation as we do not know what was fitted.

Surprised Van Bitz charged £15 for transfer for nearly ten years, and we put it up to £20 in January this year.
Never charged £25 Surprised

Eddie for what you offer it should be £50, a lot of freebies being offered in support there.

You supplied and fitted a system to your original customer, are you then married to it forever and then expected to basically do a full handover for free to every new owner?

Correct me if I am wrong but some one with a Tracker installed on a van they have just bought gets NOWT!

Peter

It seems that if you buy a second hand van with Strikeback installed we are married to it forever!

Because it is the best motorhome alarm on the market the dealers always make a point that it is a "Strikeback installed" and just phone Van Bitz!

I have to say (as I always end up saying) That Johns Cross are one of the few dealers to contact us to check "what's what" when they sell a 2nd hand van with a Strikeback system installed which does make life easier for all concerned!

However, I wish we could charge £50 Wink

Eddie

In my experience dealers wash their hands of alarm system specifically having exclusions to any warranties for alarm [and audio equipment]. Johns Cross appear it seems to be an exception to that generalisation.
I am buying a MH fitted with a Cobra system which appears to be lacking in detail of who fitted it etc. I have been having difficulty in getting the insurance company to accept it. I am going the whole hog of getting Vanbitz to remove it and replace it with a Strikeback system.

I have just had my van fitted with the Strikeback alarm, concept pager and a Tracker, it is the 3rd. van that I have had this unit fitted to and I would not consider any other alarm system, no problems with any of the units, first class service. I know it means a trip to Taunton from my home in Torquay but even though Marquis offered to fit a Cobra alarm I declined as it is worth the journey to get the best.
Great aftersales service , lovely peaceful campsite next to the workshop what more could you want, this is the way all companies should operate and needless to say any future vans will be fitted with this alarm.

well done to everyone at Vanbitz

Twice delayed by Brownhills (poor) handover process, Vanbitz allowed us to rearrange our appointment to have an alarm and tracker fitted.

Overall excellent service from Eddie and his team. We were there long enough to see extra good service delivered to another customer.

Can't recommend Vanbitz more highly.
