Sonesta, stop fretting, you will never please everyone, some people complain about everything, most people are very considerate
If you refrained from everything that might cause complaint you would need to stay barricaded in your home --- and even then!!!!!
Your generator is not noisy, I was parked near you although we were a touch unlucky with the van that had battery problems and needed to run the generator all day
even that was not that bad
Aldra
Aw bless you you Aldra - that is reassuring to know!
Yeah poor fella next to us - he seemed to be having a lot of problems with his batteries didn't he? I hope he got it all sorted - but perhaps under the circumstances he ought to have moved over to the other side of the field away from everyone, especially if he had to leave his genny running constantly? I know I would have done but maybe he was just too stressed out with it all to actually stop and think clearly?
I have a TEC29 fitted & whilst it works fine & is reasonably quiet if I was ordering the same van again I would of gone for the Gasperini along with a larger gas tank to run it instead.
The onboard 440amp of batteries along with a pure sine wave 2000w continuous rated inverter actually has more starting power for heavy loads like the built in air compressor than the TEC29 which struggles by comparison. Also despite fitting the additional silencer its still a tad noisy under heavy loads for true comfort & without it was truly horribly noisy.
We don't mind generators, we don't have one, but have stayed on rallies/shows where they are being used. I think it goes hand in hand with the life style we choose to live. If you go to shows or cl's without leccy like we do then you have to expect that someone will be using a generator for what ever reason.
I do agree with sonesta, especially where shows are concerned, that organisers could put those choosing to use genny's in there own area.
Personally I quite like the hum of a generator. Each to there own
Happy motorhoming
slightly off topic,
we are at dog shows most weekends and when we are at a big show on a show ground, we like to make it an extended break.
we have always tried to make do with our batteries, this is fine in the warmer months, sitting outside with the bbq going and socialising,
but in the colder months you tend to be inside all the time with tv/dvd/laptop ect on so you use more power.
last month we were on the stafford showground and took a genny as our batteries have been playing up a bit.
i noticed a lot of generators going and once inside our van they could hardly be heard, and all were turned off by 10pm.
our generator was placed under the back of the van and was fine in the rain, the wife turned it off when giving the dogs a late pee ( she has a better coat than me )
we expect others to have generators on show grounds, so are not bothered, providing they are not on all night or too ealy in the morning.
