Since you are in Northants, why not talk to RoadPro? They are at Daventry and have a lot of experience of domes. I know from talking to Andy, the owner, that he has used an in-motion dome to listen to radio whilst travelling abroad.
I have a static dome (supplied by RoadPro) and it is connected to the radio via an extra feed from the digibox, but of course, we can only listen when parked.

In motion is at best patchy and in my opinion a waste of money.

In a marine situation, there is very little to get in the way of the sky whilst at sea!

Every turn, bridge, hill, high building causes signal loss and the equipment to start searching.

As all this happens you of course you loose your program

We do sell KVH as we are a KVH premier dealer, we advise people not to buy in motion and explain why, so that when people don't listen to our advice and complain, we can say yes we did tell you Wink

We have a Camos Inmotion, never used it for radio but for TV is it not that good. Unless you are on road with no trees or tall buildings ETC it can loose picture very regularly and take a good few seconds to come back on.

It works fine when not moving and the best thing about it is you can move about on a site if reception is patchy until you get a signal

I would not buy another.

I agree with eddie van bitz. In motion is a waste of time for MHs. The only advantage is that when you arrive on site the things all lined up. saving you 30 seconds doing it yourself.

Driving will be horrible as you contantly lose the signal and you would soon get fed up and turn the radio off.

As eddie says on the sea its ideal as the boat rises falls and rolls the signal remains the same but in a MH hopeless.(IMHO)

Also if you are going really far south you will need a really big dish which in motion ones (domes ones) dont really catef for.

My OH needs a constant fix of Radio4 even when we're in France . . our solution is the good old battery powered portable radio tuned into R4 on longwave . . not always perfect but good enough most of the time

I have one & Eddie is exactly right as to the problems encountered in practice.

It is however useful for me to ensure before you pick your parking spot that you are going to be able to get a signal by driving around with it switched on.

You would be better to use the Internet and stream the radio program perhaps? At a fixed location...

You don't need a big dish to listen to the BBC radio by satellite even in the south of Spain. TV, yes, radio, no. I listened to radio 4 for two months nr. Cadiz with a small portable Aldi dish. Worked fine. People on the site kept asking me why I was even attempting to try with such a small dish. They seemed amazed that you could get radio 4. I think the radio channels are on a different beam.
