Yes I have the Unibrake system on my Lunar Roadstar towing a Kia Picanto. Excellent system, took me about 30 minutes to get the balance between van and car servos working together on the way back from the fitting but after that it was a breeze. Did not feel the car at all.
Unibrake were very professional during the fitting and gave a nice detailed explanation at the end. Brian of Unibrake certainly knows his stuff.
If I am led to believe all the fuss over legalities etc.. then I believe the Unibrake system will be fully legal come the change in 2014.
It is slightly more expensive than other systems around right now but in my view it is worth it, knowing that the brakes on the car are working as they should do.
I have yet to do a continental trip with it but we will rectify this next year.

I am certainly not going to get into any arguments over legality or when or even if there are forthcoming law changes, I am just going to state facts.
I have towed well in excess of 15000 miles, through all countries except for Spain, I have never liked Spain as I have only ever been once.
I have never been told by any Policeman that it is illegal even though I have been stopped twice once in Germany and once in Italy, The Police in Italy were extremely interested in where I had got my A Frame from and how it worked.
From what I understand the ONLY country which people have any problems with is Spain.
Not only is Spain a problem for A frames but according to all publicity it is unsafe because of thefts etc.
I have a Rapido MH and last year during a visit to Rapido at Mayenne the Company Managing director inspected the system and asked where they could get supplies from.

Thanks for the advice, and the fact that you have never had any issues, that is my view exactly, do not try to second guess what might happen in the future, enjoy it now.
I intend going down to Croatia through the Belgium, Germany, Austria,Slovenia route later in the year with the bosses Kia Picanto on my unibrake A Frame. I am over 3500kgs so not sure of the Go Box charges crossing Austria with a Toad and effectively 4 axles so I may split the unit and the boss can follow behind on a standard Vignette. Anyway, I will research that nearer the time.

Not meaning that Spain is the only place for thieves BUT it is the only place that has Both problems, Fact.
I have looked at the Uni Brake system as I used to have a Fifth wheel and they use the same or very similar type of braking system, But I like larger cars as Toads and the Uni Brake system appears too lightweight, I have never checked but that is how it looks.

Yes I thnk you are right about the car size but It is more than adequate for the Picanto or similar sized car. I like the braking system, it is extremely efficient and once you get the balance right you hardly know the car is there. Never a problem with reversing, apart from the skill to do it.
Got a long weekend booked in the South Lakes next week with it so a chance to give it a early season run. Hopefully no snow about.

I have just been very surprised, Just out of curiosity more than anything else I phoned and asked about Max Towing weight, I expected around 1200 kgs was I surprised when I was told 2000 kgs so it is capable of towing more than mine is.
I am on about changing my toad to Peugeot 308 soon, I am going to have to think about this.
