Afternoon all,

You could use casters which are readily available from places such as machine mart.
Sensible topic this.

Really? After all that's been said!

I thought that the thread was finally coming to a sensible conclusion on this matter - apparently not!

I too suffered from the same problem in places like that motorhome only site in Folkstone. I was OK mut the Mrs was having kittens, it did just ground at the back at one point. Yes I have seen at Dussledorf some large stout grounding wheels on big motorhomes and these are significant bits of engionering, I have my doubts about the durability of the small wheels and even smaller pivots on those at the start of this thread. My own solution was a tad different. I have already had heavy duty springs fitted back and front so neigher end sits kissing the bump stops any more, but that PRS rear towbar actuallt takes away a lot of rear end clearance. The fixings underneath the motorhome are fine but that "standard" towbar that they hang across the back is the problem. Having seen what the major manufacturers are doing this year in Dussledorf I decided to do my own variant using much of the PRS underpinning. Some of the PRS lower steelwork remains and will touch the ground before any GRP comes into contact. Just draw a line from the bottom of the rear wheels to under the back of the motorhome and anything that hangs below that should touch the ground first. before and after snaps and a shot of my welded assembly before I painted it.
