Machine mart do a cheap mechanics stethascope proved to be a great tool.It is very easy to assume the worst in these type of situations, when it is something silly and missed by the factory on the external part of the engine Surprised Very Happy
Hope u find an easy resolution anyways Smile

many thanks for all your thoughts and comments I can report back that all is now well with our van Fiat having replaced various components in connection with EGR system the noise has now been stopped . Sherwood Commercial of Nottingham did the work thanks guys.

Oddly on most cruiser motorbikes you just rip the whole egr lot off and make for a much better engine Wink

I think the point about Lowdhams and indeed any other motorhome dealer being repsonsible is quite right and the sooner the industry delivers a complete package the better for all.

Hopefully that will be the end of the matter. Very Happy Very Happy

Glad to hear you've got it all sorted! Hopefully, you can look forward to a relaxing Christmas now.

As others have said, it really shouldn't be necessary for the customer to have to do all the chasing around. It just makes it too easy for each player in the saga to pass the customer from pillar to post, without taking ownership or any responsibility for sorting out the problem.

So I don't need to go and thump on Mr Lowdham's desk now then. Pity, I was looking forward to that bit.

We'd better go for a pint then instead Very Happy
