Hi blu66
Check out this thread.
You also need the sikaflex and the cleaner.
I have the same panel as you although only one. Your regulator looks ok to me as Techno has given it the OK
I have used 20 amp wire.
I also fitted a 7.5amp fuse between the regulator and the battery.
Some people fit it between the panel and the regulator

Hi blu66
The one regulator will be quite OK
The one that you have chosen is 15 AMP and each Solar panel that you have also chosen will push in about 5 AMP, therefore it is the correct size with a little to spare.
I am no expert but I would have thought that if two regulators were fitted then the battery could have double the charge rate going in and that could cook the battery..
I expect that an expert will expand on the issue and either correct me or confirm that I am right.

Hi
We had 2 regulators on our previous van, providing that they are compatible and one doesn't try to destroy the other then they work well.

We had 2 steca's running different panels.

Paul.

Yes only 1 regulator is required of sufficient current rating to support the maximum output of your panels.

2 regulators would do the same job but totally un necessary
To clarify 2 regulators wont double the charge rate or cook your batteries and if 2 were used they would both work individually in direct response to the battery voltage feedback so as the voltage increases the charge current would reduce (given that the Sun was out)
Likewise when on hookup mains charger or driving with alternator, all only respond to a hungry battery, if it is full no charge will be given.

Guys,
last couple of questions if you dont mind.
where is best place to get cable?
and when fitting the brackets on the 90 panels is it 2 brackets each side or do you need both sides and both ends?

thanks

I bought solar PV cable 4mm on ebay.
There are various examples, this is a good starting point for a best price/suitable length search

Thanks Techno for the correction. I wrongly thought that two regulators could overcharge and cook the battery.
I knew an expert would come along Very Happy

Suitable cable can also be purchased from any good auto factors such as Smithson's.
