Hi,
If you only save £5500 and end up with a LHD i think i would seriously look at trying to make a deal with the UK dealer as normally around this time of year with a slow market and no part exchange you could expect to get upto 10% discount, as for the air con it can be fitted for about 1800 ?? and the resale value of a RHD is far higher than for a LHD ?in the UK

When i was looking there appeared to be a lot better deals on used vehicles over 6mths old, the difference in price from UK to Germany appeared to save a lot more

All the best what ever you do just enjoy yourself

Hi

Is the resale of a RHD much higher than a LHD?

Looking at Deepcars website, I think they are all LHD.

By the end of the year I expect to have about 25000 miles on my Compass. Most of these miles done en route to Lake Garda.

A LHD would eliminate a lot of the blind spots I have when driving overseas.

How many times do you ask your travelling companion "is it clear"?

When I come to exchange in November when the Compass is 12 month old, I will be taking a very close look at LHD

Endroven

Anyone who buys a M/H overseas and saves only £5500 is either buying £16000 van or isn't doing their homework. You should save around one third before expenses.

Who says you "end up" with a LHD - you CHOOSE a LHD.

I was at the Shepton show two weeks ago and spoke to several people trying to strike deals to buy new vans, if you think there are some easy deals about in the UK at this time of year, ask them - I didn't hear of any.

It's true that the price of a S/H LHD is slightly lower here but the price to buy the van in the first place is 30%+ cheaper - end of argument.
