Hi,

One advantage of a netbook is you can plug an external wifi aerial into a USB port which the ipad / iphone doesn't have.

but we also find the ipad useful for downloaded podcasts both audio and video which are instantly available.

A netbook doesn't usually have a DVD disc drive but you can plug in an external one

Steve

Well I'm pleased about that as I already have a netbook (with 8 hr battery). It's a job keeping pace with all these new gizzmo's.

Hi Steve, thanks for reply. What is a podcast & can I download them onto a netbook. I have a vague idea that it is the same as the i-player which is only downloadable in the uk?. technology is speeding up faster than my life.

I have a net book and Mrs Mixyblob has an ipad.
The ipad does what it does much better than the net book.
The big problem is the ipad is somewhat limited to what it can do.
If we had to leave one at home, it would, without doubt, be the ipad.
A net book connected to a FacultyX aerial, loaded with films, music and books via the Kindle reader, is all we ever need for on board entertainment.
